ETWALL EAGLES SWIMMING CLUB

Once again the squad enjoyed its annual day out at GL1 for the Gloucester Masters Meet. With the Colonel back in town (despite the best efforts of his alarm clock and windscreen wipers) we successfully managed to retain the trophy for the top visiting team - thanks to an excellent all round team effort.  The end result was that close every swim contributed.

Expectation for the unknown was high for the 400 FC with several members of the team making annual appearances at the distance, however am pleased to report no major incidents occurred and all recorded good times and remembered to swim the full 16 lengths!

Garry on the back of his now famous six week taper again defied the odds with a string of fine performances.  Dave again produced some really quick times to impress throughout his series of swims and Sarah continues to get quicker (more to come me thinks).  Plenty of swimmers recorded PB's, one that comes to mind is Kath's fantastic 400 Freestyle.

With several very strong candidates it was Martyn who recorded the 'swim of the meet' for his superb 100m Butterfly PB.

Captain Briggs and her trusty Vice Captain Mr Vickers duly collected the team trophy.  Many thanks to Gloucester for organising a great meet.

 Next stop Leamington Spa.........
