ETWALL EAGLES SWIMMING CLUB

The Eagles enjoyed another successful trip to the ASA National Masters Championships. Twenty swimmers travelled north to Sheffield for the three day meet.

Highlights were plentiful with no fewer than five swimmers winning national titles (Julie, Kath, Kirstie, Lindsey, and Ruth) and a further three gaining medals (Becky, Chris B, and Dave).

One of the many fine performances from Saturday was Julies 200m Butterfly swim which concluded with a new European record in the 40-44 yrs age group.

In total nearly fifty club records were broken with seven out of the ten relay teams setting new club best times.

Congratulations to Mike for a successful debut and Becky for a great return after a few years away.

There are far too many highlights and personal milestones to mention in this short report, so well end with Mr Vickers who wins the award for the most unusual injury.waking up and feeling good after a successful first day, the Bullet decided to go through his butterfly routine in front of a mirror at home (how vain?), his eagerness resulted in his shoulder going into a spasm and a pulled muscle!

Chris, Lindsey, Ruth and Gary - a medal winning team...

Julie receives her medal....
