ETWALL EAGLES SWIMMING CLUB
A rare trip south made a pleasant change for the Masters squad. Competing in the Bracknell Meet it was a chance to bolster decathlon points with a few gruelling 200m swims!!
The squad of eight were in sparkling form led from the front by Captain Briggs who recorded a number of PB’s and lowered her 200m Individual Medley club record. Mr Smith again moved towards his best form and PB’s are now just around the corner.
Steve Prince made his first competitive start of the year and immediately looked in good form with some excellent sprints.
Sprint queen Jaq was again in blistering form lowering PB’s in the 50m Fly and Freestyle events; the magic sub 30 mark now waits.
Contrasting Breaststroke swims from the inconsistent Rolle again demonstrated that over the 100m distance he’s a totally different swimmer to the blurred mess that bobs up and down in the 50m sprint! He could learn a lot from the other Rolle who again turned out three decent performances.
A club record for Ruth in the 200m Freestyle was followed by the frustration of a knee injury halfway through what was looking like a stunning 200m Backstroke swim.
Paul Ingle’s 200m Breaststroke was voted Etwall’s ‘swim of the meet’ to become the third swimmer on the short-list for the ‘swim of the year’ competition.
Thanks to Bracknell & Wokingham Swimming Club for organising an enjoyable event.
Next event: Midland Championships at Leamington.
