The Rotherham Metro Masters meet staged at Ponds Forge again provided the ideal opportunity for quick times over the long course format.  The Etwall squad were in fine form with a bag full of new personal bests, club records and even some East Midland records!

There was great interest around Clive’s attempt to complete his Decathlon in one meet, a different and difficult approach but one Clive succeeded in – a great effort (not to mention entertainment for the rest of us)!

Some excellent personal bests were collected by most members of the squad, one of the most impressive was Mr Ingle, whose recent stroke remodelling is certainly paying dividends! Keep watching this space.

The ‘swim of the meet’ was heading for a close call until the very last event of the day when a storming 200m Freestyle swim by Dave Holland was voted the deserved clear winner.

Well done to all members that swam, a great team effort and enjoyable day.  Many thanks to the Officials from Rotherham Metro for organising an excellent meet.

The next outing is to Bracknell in March.
