Masters
The Club has a thriving Masters section (Masters is for swimmers aged 18 years plus).
The main aims of masters swimming are for better health and fitness, enjoyment and
friendship between swimmers. There are many competitions that master swimmers can
enter although there is no compulsion for swimmers to compete if they do not wish
to.
We are a group of adults of all ages and abilities, some who compete in club galas
or in meets specifically for masters. Others are ex competitive swimmers who want
to keep up their fitness or parents who chase a vain hope of keeping up with their
children. All sessions are coached in lanes made up of swimmers of similar ability.
So if you enjoy lane swimming to keep fit and would like to develop your stroke,
or would like to get back into swimming and possibly enter competitions, then why
not give it a try?
For the competitive swimmer the club is enjoying its most successful period in the
Club's history with individuals from the club regularly winning national titles
and top ten rankings. We regularly compete in competitions up and down the country
and most years enjoy a European adventure! The secret to all this success is the
fantastic team spirit. It doesn't matter if it is your first ever competition you'll
be an important and valued member of the team. So come and give it a go!
